Wedding
Business
The
wedding industry is a huge global business. Millions
of people get married every year in weddings that range
from the small to the large and from the cheap to the
lavish. Celebrity weddings such as David Beckham’s
can cost millions of dollars.
The wedding business comprises a number of related industries.
There is the dress making industry for brides and bridesmaids.
Grooms and ushers need suits to wear. There is a whole
industry devoted to supplying wedding cakes. Brides
arrive at their wedding in specially rented cars or
even by horse drawn carriage. Flowers are an important
part of any wedding. One of the largest sections of
the wedding industry is the hospitality section of it.
The reception and meal after the wedding is one of the
most expensive parts of the day. DJs are hired to provide
entertainment and a professional photographer is required
to take pictures.
One slight downside to the wedding business is its seasonal
nature. Far more people choose to get married in the
spring and summer months than during winter.
With the trend towards larger and more lavish weddings
the wedding industry is in a strong position. There
will always be a demand for the services that the wedding
industry provides.
